Leelanau County Michigan
Leelanu County Michigan is dotted with barns. These are a few we spotted during our road trip through Northwest Michigan.
The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island
We decided to eat lunch at the Grand Hotel. As a teenager, my Grandparents took my sister and I to Mackinac Island and we stayed at the Grand Hotel for 3 or 4 days. That was so long ago, the dining hall and the long front porch looked the same, but most everything else looked redecorated.
Mackinac Island
The day we went to Mackinac Island the weather started out pretty good. While we were on the island, the sun came out and we had a great day. It was too cold to bicycle around the island, but we did alot of walking and took a carriage tour of the island.
Mackinaw City, Michigan
We arrive at Mackinaw City. It was a dreary rainy day, but the expanse of the Mackinac Bridge is still impressive.
Oct 2009 Vacation
The drive up Michigan was totally gorgeous. The fall color was amazing. It's hard to take pictures while driving, but you can tell how beautiful the leaves were.
2nd day of vacation
We went to St Louis, MO and toured Anheuser Busch. We took the Beermaster tour. After the tour, which included beer, we also got to sample and beer we wanted. This is a great tour.

Road trip to Mackinac Island, Michigan. Beautiful drive. Georgeous fall color.
First stop at Fantastic Caverns in Springfield, MO. The weather was dreary and cold. The cave was warm and humid. The cavern was beautiful, but the ride through it was uncomfortable. The trip to Carlsbad Caverns a couple of years ago proved to be more enjoyable.
